What’s to Eat Around Town?

by Marcia Parnell

Becket Country Store: Owner Ryan Eley has added hot sandwiches and vegetarian and vegan offerings to his deli menu along with fresh produce. There is both indoor and outdoor umbrellaed seating. See their Facebook page for all the details.

Dream Away Lodge: If you hadn’t already heard, former chef Amy Loveless has returned and there’s a new menu. Community music night is every Wednesday and reservations can be booked through Resy. See thedreamawaylodge.com for all the latest.

Neon Newt: Owner Olivia Pattison added a bakery during the off-season and is now selling pastries and breads made from all-local grains during restaurant hours — Thursday through Sunday from 8am to 2pm. Monday night dinners continue with a different seasonal menu each week. Check out the Newt’s Facebook page for menus and more.

Papa Bob’s: Outdoor dining and music have started and “Christmas in July” is this month’s theme with ugly sweater and chili cookoff events planned by Owners Tami and Bob Scott. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Becket Police Association’s Children’s Holiday Party held each December. Everything you need to know is at papabobsplace.com.

Route 8 Pub: General Manager Trisha Magner has added “grab and go” food and snacks available Thursday through Sundays from 11am to 3pm and promises live entertainment at least two days weekly. Learn more at route8pub.com.

Sherwood Shoppe: Long-prized for their breakfasts and baked goods, you may not have known that the Sherwood Shoppe also bakes pizza from scratch and stocks all the deli and grocery items you would expect in a convenience store. Check out their menu at sherwoodshoppe.com.
