Don’t miss your chance to vote. A key seat for Becket and Berkshire County residents is up for grabs in the Democratic primary election scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd. The Third Berkshire District seat of the State House of Representatives is open for the first time in many years, since incumbent Smitty Pignatelli has opted not to run again.
There are three Democrats on the primary ballot: Leigh Davis (leighdavis.org); Jamie Minacci (minacciforstaterep.org); and Patrick White (patrickwhiteberkshires.com). There are no Republican nominees and Independent candidate Marybeth Mitts (mitts4staterep.com) will appear on the November election ballot.
In order to participate, voters must be registered by August 24th. Vote by mail applications must be received by August 26th. Any Unenrolled voters (no party affiliation) or those wishing to change their party must do so 10 days before the primary. In- person voting will be conducted at Becket Town Hall from 7am to 8pm on September 3rd.
