The Becket Athenaeum Big Read Launches!

The library has been awarded a 2024-2025 National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant to support the first-ever community read for Becket and Washington! The book is The Bear by Andrew Krivak (available at the library) and there will be several exciting free programs in collaboration with community partners within the theme of environmental awareness culminating in a visit from the author in May 2025. Join us for the kick-off event, a Climate Change Panel, on Thursday, September 26th at 6pm. The panel will feature local leaders in climate organizations discussing climate disruption and environmental awareness. There will be time for questions.
