As we wrap up the year, we want to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful student intern, Matty Beatty. Matty is a Junior at WRHS and is in their third year with the school newspaper—this year as Junior Editor. They are passionate about their hometown of Becket and particularly interested in music and the arts. Check out their article on the Becket Arts Center’s Talent Show.
Two of our stories this month cover the amazing volunteer work done through the Becket Food Pantry on behalf of the residents of Becket and Washington, and Steve Rosenthal’s efforts to help seniors navigate Medicare enrollment. With that top of mind, it is a good time to remind people that Tuesday, December 3rd, is Giving Tuesday and is an excellent time to give to your favorite cause(s).
Lastly, we want to remind you that the Becket Beat will not publish a January issue and will instead take some time to assess our strengths and challenges in 2024 and brainstorm the changes we want to make in 2025. Look for our next issue on February 1st. In the meantime we wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season!
