After losing our highway superintendent and some crew members this winter, the Becket Highway Department has brought on four new staff members—including Select Board Vice Chair Bill Elovirta as Interim Highway Superintendent.
The addition of the new staff brings the total highway team to seven. Elovirta, who previously served as Becket’s highway superintendent, is working part-time up to twenty hours per week until a permanent highway superintendent is named.
The three new members are all equipment operators/truck drivers. They are Patrick Finnegan (Foreman), Timothy Deming, and Jason Wagner. They join the existing crew of Dominic Russo, equipment operator/truck driver, Sierra Blodgett, administrative assistant, and Robert Scolforo, building and grounds technician.
