The appreciation, love, and sense of loss for owners Bob and Tami Scott was abundant in the 294 emojis and 126 comments on the Facebook post announcing the closure of local favorite Papa Bob’s Entertainment Hall on February 4th.
Very much a family affair, Tami’s dad purchased the property, and Bob and Tami opened the restaurant on July 1, 2016. Each summer, son Bobby would travel north from Mexico to help out. At nearly every visit, patrons would get a personal hello and “How’s everything?” from either Tami or Bob. True to their entertainment hall name, Papa Bob’s routinely held parties and featured local bands, and at Christmas Tami would provide a complimentary buffet to guests. As Bob explained one evening, “We do it for the community, not for the money.”
It’s not known what comes next for the property, but local sentiments indicate the Scotts will be a hard act to follow and very much missed in Becket.
