You’re probably familiar with it by now and should have received your 2025 Town Census form in the mail. Also known as the Annual Street Listing, the Census is used to comply with state law requiring all towns and cities to update residential street addresses and resident population figures every year.
Returning your census form matters because the data may impact funding for an array of local services, such as Becket Washington School enrollment projects, public safety, senior citizens’ needs, veterans’ benefits, and allocation of federal funds and emergency personnel during a local emergency.
The Town Census does not register anyone to vote or record party or address changes. However, failure to respond to the census can result in your being removed from the state registered voters list (because you would no longer be listed as a resident). If you need any voter registration information please go to www.sec.state.ma.us.
If your household has not received a 2025 Town Census form, please notify the Becket Town Clerk at (413) 623-8934 ext. 111.
